A stop-motion puppet animation film based on the stories of Etgar Keret, this film is a surreal look at a group of misfits who are drawn together in an apartment complex in Sydney. Dave, an unemployed young man, is drawn into this community when he finds an ad for a pamphlet that costs $9.99 and will explain the meaning of life. Together with a disgruntled old man and his guardian angel, a man who has befriended a group of two-inch tall students, and a boy who frees his piggy bank, he sets forth on his quest. Directed by Tatia Rosenthal. With Geoffrey Rush, Anthony LaPaglia, Samuel Johnson, Joel Edgerton, Claudia Karvan, Leeanna Walsman and Josef Ber. Categories: Animation. Year: 2008.
