After being largely ignored by the public at launch, Apollo 13 captures the nation's attention when they announce that they have a problem. Stranded in space in a crippled ship, astronauts Jim Lovell (Tom Hanks), Fred Haise (Bill Paxton), and Jack Swigert (Kevin Bacon) do their best to make it back to earth in one piece.
