When a former rock star and nightclub owner (Bill Cable) is found murdered, Detective Nick Curran (Michael Douglas) is put on the case. A recovering alcoholic and drug addict, Curran starts suspecting Catherine Tramell (Sharon Stone), an intelligent and manipulative novelist.
