The very different lives of Danny Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio), an ex-mercenary, and Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou), a poor African fisherman, converge in the search for a rare and precious pink diamond. While in jail for smuggling, Danny learns that Solomon has hidden the precious stone.
