Agnes (Ashley Judd), a lonely waitress with a dark past, spends her days in run-down motel living in fear of her abusive, recently paroled ex-husband (Harry Connick Jr.). But, when Peter moves in and they spend more time together, their relationship deteriorates into paranoid, drug-fueled existence complicated by a mysterious bug infestation.
