Following his release from prison after serving time for a rape conviction, Max Cady (Robert De Niro) seeks revenge on Sam Bowden (Nick Nolte), the public defender who represented him during his trial. Cady believes that Bowden deliberately held back important information about his case that could have kept him out of jail. As payback, the psychopath sets off to terrorize Bowden, his wife (Jessica Lange) and their 15 year-old daughter (Juliette Lewis). Directed by Martin Scorsese.
