Driving home from a party, Ellie (Christina Ricci) and her brother, Jimmy (Jesse Eisenberg), get into a violent car accident. While trying to rescue the injured woman in the other car, Ellie and Jimmy are attacked by a mysterious creature. Soon, they find themselves to be inordinately strong and alluring to others.
