Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston are Charles and Lucinda, strangers who meet on a train and strike up a flirtation. They head to a hotel for what they think will be a fling with no consequences, since both of them are married. But a psychotic man (Vincent Cassel) breaks into their room, robs Owen and rapes Aniston. They decide not to file a police report, but then the psycho starts blackmailing Owen and stalking both their families.
