El Mariachi (Carlos Gallardo), a traveling musician, moves from place to place to play his guitar and carry on a family tradition. But, when El arrives in a small town at the same time as an escaped convict who carries his guns in a guitar case, the local drug lord and his henchmen mistake El for the killer.
