After losing his company millions of dollars and having his girlfriend (Jessica Biel) walk out on him, Drew Baylor (Orlando Bloom) is on the verge of suicide. But, after learning of his father's death, Drew finds a sense of purpose in returning his father's body to his mother (Susan Sarandon) in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. On the flight home, Drew meets a beautiful flight attendant named Claire (Kirsten Dunst).
