When a fairytale princess (Amy Adams) is transported into modern day New York City by an evil queen (Susan Sarandon), she begins to change her views on life and love after meeting a handsome lawyer (Patrick Dempsey). Banished from her magical, animated home, the princess is followed by her equally unprepared prince (James Marsden), who hopes to save his damsel from the dangers of the real world.
