While Joe (Daniel Craig) and Claire (Samantha Morton) enjoy their anniversary in the park, an out of control hot air balloon drifts into view. Joe and three other men are unable to save the people in the basket. Weeks later, one of the rescuers, Jed Parry (Rhys Ifans), contacts Joe to reflect on the day.
