In the year 2029, astronaut Leo Davidson (Mark Wahlberg) embarks on a routine space mission, but accidentally falls through a worm hole. Landing on a strange planet, Davidson discovers that the alien land is ruled by a society of talking apes, who keep humans as slaves. After being captured, Davidson, aided by chimpanzee activist, Ari (Helena Bonham Carter), leads the humans in a revolt against General Thade (Tim Roth), his best warrior, Attar (Michael Clarke Duncan) and their Gorilla Army.
