A widowed dad (Robert De Niro) gets worried when his three grown children (Sam Rockwell, Drew Barrymore, and Kate Beckinsale) all cancel their plans to spend Christmas with him at the last minute. He heads off to visit each of them, and learns that while they told their mother everything, they are ashamed to let him know when something bad has happened in their lives.
