Dan (Michael Douglas), a married man, gives into temptation and has a fling with Alex (Glenn Close), while his wife (Anne Archer) and kids are away. When his family gets back, it's over, as far as he's concerned. But Alex is in love with him, and starts stalking him and threatening his family.
