When Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) hears a voice in his cornfield accompanied by a vision of a baseball field, he takes it as a sign to plow under his crops and build a diamond. After its construction, the ghosts of Shoeless Joe Jackson (Ray Liotta) and the rest of the Black Sox appear on the field and play ball.
