Sixteen-year-old Finn (Anton Yelchin) is looking forward to leaving his New York apartment for the summer to reunite with his estranged anthropologist father, who is busy studying a remote tribe in South America. But, when Finn is arrested while trying to help Liz (Diane Lane), his drug addict mother, the dream is crushed. Looking for a better life, Finn and Liz, a masseuse, move into the guesthouse of one of her wealthy ex-clients (Donald Sutherland). Out of his element, Finn decides to perform an anthropologic study of his own on the aristorcratic inhabitants of this priviledge New Jersey community. Directed by Griffin Dunne.
