After moving from a small town to New York City, Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum) struggles to make a living selling counterfeit merchandise on the streets. Things start to change when Shawn meets Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard), a scam artist who sees that Shawn has the makings of a great streetfighter. Forming an uneasy partnership, Harvey introduces Shawn to the dangerous world of bare-knuckle fighting. In a sport where rich men bet on the lives of disposable warriors, Shawn becomes a star brawler, taking down all comers.
