A.K. (Eugene Hutz), a Ukrainian immigrant living in England, moonlights as a cross-dressing dominatrix to fund his dreams of rock superstardom. A self-described poet and philosopher, A.K. believes that his rollicking gypsy punk bank, Gogol Bordello, is destined for greatness and will do whatever it takes to turn his dream into a reality. Joining A.K. in his crazy life are his flatmates, Holly (Holly Weston), an aspiring ballet dancer reduced to working as a stripper, and Juliette (Vicky McClure), a pharmacy assistant who dreams of going to Africa to help starving children.
