Halle Berry is an accomplished psychologist who works with disturbed patients in a mental hospital. After interviewing one of them, played by Penélope Cruz, the psychologist gets into a car accident caused by a young woman who suddenly appears in the road. Before she knows what is happening, the doctor finds herself a patient in the hospital where she used to work, accused of murdering her husband.
