Pilot Hal Jordan receives a powerful ring from a mysterious, dying alien creature and it transforms him into a Green Lantern, part of an elite force of heroes. They guard the universe to keep the peace under the leadership of the Guardians of the Universe. Concerned about the ability and loyalty of their newest member, the Guardians assign Hal to their most-honored master, Sinestro, for training. The other Green Lanterns don't know that Sinestro wants to overthrow the Guardians and become the new ruler. Hal must prove himself by defeating Sinestro to save the Green Lantern Corps.
