Years after his affair with Hanna Schmitz (Kate Winslet), an attractive older woman, came to a mysterious end, Michael Berg (David Kross), now a law student, encounters his former love at the Nazi war trials. Hanna is on trial for a horrible crime, but refuses to defend herself.
