Poppy (Sally Hawkins) is a freespirited school teacher who brightens up the lives of everyone she meets and brings unlimited optimism to every situation she encounters. But, when her bike is stolen, Poppy's positive attitude is put to the test. Forced to take driving lessons, Poppy meets her opposite in Scott (Eddie Marsan), an uptight cynic. In addition to her weekly tension-filled meetings with Scott, Poppy must also deal with a fiery flamenco instructor, her bitter pregnant sister (Caroline Martin), a troubled homeless man and a young bully in her class. But, despite in all, Poppy never loses sight of what's really important in life. Directed by Mike Leigh. With Alexis Zegerman, Andrea Riseborough, Samuel Roukin and Sylvestra Le Touzel. Categories: Comedy, Drama, Independent Film. Year: 2008.
