Joe Gavilan (Harrison Ford) and his rookie partner Kasey Calden (Josh Hartnett) are two Tinseltown homicide detectives who work second jobs for extra cash. Gavilan moonlights as a real estate broker and Calden teaches yoga in between acting auditions. When the two are assigned to investigate the murder of four members of rap group gunned down in a nightclub, they delve into the recording industry, using every opportunity they get seek out potential buyers and casting directors.
