After not speaking to one another for over twenty years, Floyd (Bernie Mac) and Louis (Samuel L. Jackson), two estranged soul legends, agree to reunite to perform at a tribute concert for their former band leader at the Apollo Theater. Setting out on a road trip, Floyd, a boisterous retired businessman, and Louis, a stubborn ex-convict, butt heads every step of the way and find themselves in a series of uncomfortable predicaments.
