In 1966, Texas Western coach Don Haskins (Josh Lucas) leads the first college basketball team with all-black starters to the NCAA national championship. After a recruiting trip to find the best talent, Haskins leads a team of seven blacks and five whites through a season of ridicule and insurmountable odds to eventually take on a powerhouse team from Kentucky.
