Daphne (Diane Keaton), an incredibly overbearing mother, fears that her youngest daughter, Milly (Mandy Moore), will make the same mistakes with love that she once did. Deciding to help Milly find the perfect man, Daphne creates an internet personal ad and proceeds to interview a series of eligible (and not-so-eligible) bachelors. During the course of her interview sessions, an intrigued eavesdropper, Johnny (Gabriel Macht), tries to persuade Daphne that he is right for her daughter.
