After living with her grandmother (Katharine Ross) for a year, 14ear-old Alyssa (Carly Schroeder) goes to the Bahamas to live with her estranged father, Hawk (Adrian Dunbar), who is a dolphin researcher. With Hawk distracted by politians trying to turn his research center into a tourist attraction, it's up to his girlfriend Tamika (Christine Adams) and her father (George Harris) to help smooth the young girl's transition.
