Two college friends, Ian Cheney and Curt Ellis, move to Iowa to try their hand at growing one acre of corn. With the help of their neighbors, some genetically modified seed, and an unhealthy dose of herbicides and pesticides, the pair grows a bumper crop of America's most productive, most subsidized grain. But, when they try to follow their harvest into the food system, they find as many questions as they do answers regarding what Americans eat and how corporate farming operates.
