After moving into their dream home, Chris (Patrick Wilson) and Lisa Mattson (Kerry Washington), an interracial couple, receive a less than warm welcome from Abel Turner (Samuel L. Jackson), their new next door neighbor. As Abel's unfriendly behavior becomes outright harrassment, the Mattson's find that they have nowhere to turn since Abel is a powerful police officer.
