Matthew McConaughey is an adventurer who finds a coin he is sure comes from a cargo of treasure that was lost in the ocean during the Civil War. The treasure has ended up underneath the Saharan Desert. He persuades an archeologist (Penélope Cruz) and an old buddy of his (Steve Zahn) to help him track down the treasure, which will be worth a fortune.
