Sick of being bullied, Oskar (Kåre Hedebrant), a lonely, fragile 12-year-old, dreams of revenge, but can never work up the courage to confront his young tormentors. When Eli (Lina Leandersson), a pale, serious girl of his own age, moves into his apartment complex, Oskar believes that he has at last found a friend. But, when a series of murders, disappearances and attacks begin shortly after Eli's arrival, Oskar begins to suspect that Eli, who only comes out at night and seems unaffected by the freezing temperatures, is behind the killings.
