Joe (Chazz Palminteri) is a card sharp from Yonkers. But his comfortable life is disrupted when his 20-year-old son, Joe Jr. (Tom Guiry), who was institutionalized because of Down Syndrome over ten years ago, has to leave his residence because he has become violent. Although Joe's girlfriend, Janice (Christine Lahti), tries to befriend Joe Jr., he's a handful and Joe can't face having to take care of his son in the long run. So he comes up with a scheme to try to introduce rigged dice into a casino so he can make a big score that will give him enough cash to place Joe Jr. in a pricey private hospital.
