A troubled teen who can't get over his mother's death, Hallem Foe (Jamie Bell, who starred in Billy Elliot) starts spying on the neighbors near the family's Scottish country estate. He believes that his father (Ciarán Hinds) and his stepmother (Claire Forlani), plotted to kill his mother and one day he runs away to Edinburgh. There he sees a woman (Sophia Myles) who looks just like his mother and gets a job in the kitchen of the hotel where she works. But that's only the beginning of their relationship.
