When Mr. Magorium (Dustin Hoffman), the eccentric owner of a magical toy store, decides that it is time for him to retire, he leaves his store and all of its strange and fantastic treasures to his young employee, Molly Mahoney (Natalie Portman). But, after Molly is left in charge and the store comes under the scrutiny of a skeptical accountant (Jason Bateman), an ominous change overtakes the once happy shop and it loses its former magic.
