After being dumped by his girlfriend Tris (Alexis Dziena), Nick (Michael Cera), an amateur bassist, feels that his world is crumbling around him. When he spots Tris with a new guy at one of his gigs, he can barely keep it together. But, after a chance encounter with Norah (Kat Dennings), an indie rock-loving girl with love troubles of her own, Nick sets off with her into the New York night in search of a legendary band's secret show.
