After their daughter, Jess (Kristen Stewart), injures their son, Ben (Evan Turner), in a drunk driving accident, Roy (Dylan McDermott) and Denise Solomon (Penelope Ann Miller) move their family from Chicago to an abandoned farm in North Dakota in order to rebuild their lives.
