Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey) is a timid, kind-hearted man who gets pushed around by everyone he in his life. But, after finding a mysterious wooden mask that unlocks his devilish inner-self, Stanley is trasformed into a human cartoon and hits the streets to create mischief and pursue the wild life he has desired for so long. When a brutal crime lord (Peter Greene) decides he wants the mask and its powers for himself, Stanley will have to overcome his shyness and team up with the crook's beautiful girlfriend (Cameron Diaz) to save the day.
