A documentary about the life, times and work of the Oscar-winning screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, who wrote Spartacus, Roman Holiday and many other classics. He was blacklisted during the late Forties because he had been involved with the Communist Party, then went on to win an Oscar for a movie script, The Brave One, he wrote under a pseudonym. In interviews and archival footage, Trumbo and his friends and family recall his struggles and triumphs. Contemporary actors including Joan Allen, Michael Douglas, Brian Dennehy and Dustin Hoffman perform scenes from his work. Directed by Peter Askin.
