In 1607, three ships sail from England seeking to establish a foothold on the coast of the New World. Shackled below the deck of one of the ships is a soldier of fortune named John Smith (Colin Farrell). After landing, Smith seeks the assistance of the local tribesmen and meets a beautiful young woman named Pocahontas (Q'Orianka Kilcher).
