When Melanie Porter (Raven-Symoné), an overachieving high school student, makes plans to travel around the country with her friends to choose the perfect college, Chief James Porter (Martin Lawrence), her overprotective cop father, decides that they should make the trip together instead. Rather than the dream trip she imagined, Melanie finds herself stuck in one embarrassing mishap after the next.
