When a call girl is found dead after a celebration held at a Japanese company's corporate offices, American Detective Web Smith (Wesley Snipes) is put in charge of the case. Due to his inexperience with working in Japan, Smith is forced to recruit Captain John Connor (Sean Connery), an expert on Japanese politics and culture. As the two cops go after Eddie Sakamura (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa), a powerful man who Connor has run into in the past, the conspiracy deepens and new questions surface.
