Sidney Young (Simon Pegg), a bumbling, disillusioned British celebrity journalist, leaves his small alternative magazine to take a post at a large, high-profile magazine in New York City that seems to represent everything he despises. Hired by eccentric editor Clayton Harding (Jeff Bridges), Sidney is advised to find a way to impress and charm everyone in the office if he hopes to succeed. Instead, the socially inept writer manages to annoy and offend nearly all of his peers, despite his efforts to the contrary. But, things begin to turn in Sydney's favor when he makes a connection with starlet Sophie Maes (Megan Fox), and eventually his awkward ways begin to melt the heart of fellow writer Alison Olsen (Kirsten Dunst). Directed by Robert B. Weide. With Gillian Anderson and Danny Huston. Categories: Comedy. Year: 2008.
