Two brothers from a poor town in rural Mexico, Rudo (Diego Luna,) and Cursi (Gael García Bernal) are recruited by a scout and go to play professional soccer in Mexico City. While they enjoy their success, they struggle with rivalries both on and off the field. They have to deal with distractions they never faced at home, including Cursi's chance to make it as a pop star and their attraction to gambling. Directed by Carlos Cuarón.
