Max Fischer's (Jason Schwartzman) entire world revolves around Rushmore, a private school where he sacrifices his studies to engage in an incredible range of extracurricular activities. After learning that his failing grades will most certainly lead to him losing his scholarship, Max's life is further complicated when he falls for Miss Cross (Olivia Williams), a beautiful elementary school teacher.
