To make sure his son Dicky (Min Hun Fung) can attend his private school, Ti (Stephen Chow), a poor widower, leads a grueling life as a construction worker. Despite his father's best efforts, Dicky still sticks out from his wealthier classmates and, with his worn clothes and lack of the coolest new toys, he feels like an outcast.
