After violating the rights of a serial killer during an arrest, FBI Agent Thomas Mackelway (Aaron Eckhart) is sent to a remote branch of the agency in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Together with his new partner, Fran Kulok (Carrie-Anne Moss), Mackelway sets out to track down Suspect Zero, a super serial killer responsible for hundreds of deaths who leaves no evidence behind to link his crimes. The clues leads them to the enigmatic Benjamin O'Ryan (Ben Kingsley), a man who, after participating in government experiments, now has the telepathic ability to see serial killers in action.
