Inge Alltenburg (Elizabeth Reaser) travels from Norway to Minnesota in the 1920s to marry Olaf Torvik (Tim Guinee), a country farmer whom she has never met. After the pair learn that they will be unable to marry due to Inge's German citizenship, they must also deal with the community's cold treatment due to the the war in Germany. Ostracized from the community, Inge and Olaf are forced to harvest their crop completely by hand and alone. But, eventually, after Inge begins to learn English, the town warms to the woman, and she and Olaf find love through their shared hardships. Directed by Ali Selim.
