Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro) is a disturbed Vietnam vet working as a taxi driver in New York. Unhappy with his life and unable to function normally, Bickle develops an obsession with cleansing the streets of the scum he sees as the reason for the city's decay. As his obsession becomes a reality, Bickle slips more and more into the role of violent avenger in a city that doesn't want him. Directed by Martin Scorsese.
