Kent Stock (Sean Astin) quits his job and cancels his wedding in order to take the head coach position for the Norway High School baseball team. With a long tradition of winning, the team now faces uncertainty with the loss of their long time coach and the knowledge that this will be their last season before their school merges with another in the area.
